Other Palm Offerings
If one spends a little time looking into the beauty of
these unique, magnificent trees, you'll begin to come
to the conclusion of why this tree belongs in every
landscape design.  While many do not like to admit
that they're seeking to "keep up with the Jones'", all
too often many people buy what the neighbor across
the street has.  We figure, "if it works for them, then
it's safe, and it will work for us".

But why not be the first one to set the new trend? We
want to encourage you to landscape your yard, garden
or even business establishment with our foxtail palms
above any other common palm in today's market.  Here
are some reasons why our Foxtails are worth the buy.

7 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD PURCHASE A FOXTAIL PALM
1. Foxtails are SELF-CLEANING
Many who own some form of property or another soon
realize, the time and the money involved in up-keeping
the landscaped yard.  From trimming and pruning to
cleaning and blowing, maintaining a yard or property
can become very time consuming and expensive!  The
Foxtail palm needs no or little maintenance.
When the
leaves fade from their glory, you don't have to worry...the
fronds simply fall off on their own!

2.  Foxtails ultimately COST LESS
Let's figure the cost difference.

Take the two photos above on the left, for instance.  Though
these palms may cost about 50-75% of the price of a foxtail
palm (at the same height/age, when first purchased); the
cost in trimming this palm can run in the thousands after
about a 20 year period.  Why?  Because after a this palm
grows past 18' - 20' tall - which is quickly - you basically will
need to hire a professional to clean off the old fronds.  Or, if
you choose, you can buy a tall enough ladder, a chainsaw
and  an insurance plan!  Consequently, you are still spending
more. Besides, who wants to have palm trees that look half
    dried and half green?

Why not enjoy the beauty of a Wodyetia Bifurcata and have a full green palm with a
more tropical look, without the hassle and cost of dealing with dead fronds.

Example:  5' Queen Palm $29 + Trimming/Hauling $125 per year x 20 years = $2,529
     5' Foxtail Palm $55 + Trimming/Hauling $0 per year x 20 years = $55
                                             (You Save over $2,500)!!!!!

3.  Foxtails are HARDY PALMS
Not only are Foxtails beautiful and tropical, but they can also endure as low as 26
degrees and short periods of frost.  This is good for those marginal areas in the
country that are in ZONE 9B or warmer.  Foxtails prefer ideal climates near a humid
coast and elevations under 1,400 feet.  However, there have been reports that the
following marginal cities have been growing them, such as; Palm Springs, CA; Phoenix,
AZ; Houston, TX; New Orleans, LA; and Orlando, FL...just to name a few.  To some
people the Foxtail looks even more tropical and exotic than a Cuban/Florida Royal
palm, and it is hardier too!

4.  Foxtails are DROUGHT TOLERANT
Although Foxtail Palms do need their share of water when young, once established,
Foxtails can endure significant periods without water.  For example, there are mature
Foxtail Palms in Southern California that have endured several dry winter seasons.
This doesn't mean that they will look the best, however, they
will tolerate the below
normal amount of water received and survive until water is more available.

5.  Foxtails are MODERATE TO FAST GROWERS
Unlike other rare palms in today's market, which can stay under 3 feet tall even after 4
or 5 years, Foxtails can grow 2-3 feet per year!  Keep in mind that the Foxtails
welcome extra TLC.  So the more you feed/fertilize it the more it will grow.  We have
heard of Foxtails growing from seedling to 10 feet tall in less than 3 years!

We here at STCF can ship seedlings up to 3-5* feet tall anywhere in the continental U.
S..  AND if you live locally in Southern California, you can take advantage of our free
delivery option.  Pick up available upon appointment.

6.  Foxtails are NONINVASIVE
Because the foxtail palm does not have a large root system, it will not interfere with
sidewalks, underground pipes, and walkways.  In fact, a foxtail palm can be planted as
close to 3 feet from the side of a house or wall without causing any intrusion to the
structure.  Many plants in the horticulture world also tend to attract pest and plagues.
However, the foxtail palm is virtually pest free!  It rarely catches any diseases because
of its hardiness.  This palm, with it's low maintenance and independent nature, will
flourish almost unattended by your busy schedule.  It is also resistant to a lethal
yellowing disease common to tropical palm trees.

7. Foxtails are UNIQUE
Though beauty is usually in the "eye of the beholder", many would agree, that the
Foxtail has a very stately tropical presence.  From the large exotic-looking black seed;
to the fish tail like leaves in it's juvenile state;  to it's mature "Royal Palm" look-alike.
No wonder the foxtail is beginning to become world renown as one of the most unique,
tropical palm trees in the world!

Now that experimentation with trial and error have been performed in inland Southern
California area; which was a marginal area for these palms, we are convinced OUR FOXTAIL
PALM seedlings have been tested to endure a difference of 20 - 30 degree day and night
variances, as well as dry and humid environments.  However, we are not responsible for
the success/failure of your product.

Be one of the first to grow this palm in your area!  Let us help you get started,
and we'll even provide the instructions.
